The working process
Each scene begins with a Hampshire place I have visited and photographed. I carefully develop the original photograph into clear, recognisable colouring artwork.
I photograph paths, trees, bridges, villages and rural views while out exploring.
The photograph goes through several stages to create clear, recognisable line artwork.
Each final image is checked for detail, print quality and suitability for colouring.

How Composite Colour began
Composite Colour combines three things I enjoy: design, mountain biking and photography. I could not find the Hampshire countryside colouring book I had in mind, so I created it.

The second Quiet Hampshire collection brings together 40 rural scenes created from my original photography, with each colouring page printed on the right and a blank reverse.
The book has been submitted and the printed proof is on its way. It will only be made available once I have checked the physical copy and confirmed that it meets the standard I want. Follow Composite Colour for the release update.

Every scene begins with one of my own photographs taken while exploring Hampshire. The book is based on real places rather than invented countryside scenes.
Selected photographs go through a careful digital process to create detailed black and white artwork while keeping the recognisable structure of the original scene.
Book One is available from Amazon UK. The printable nine-page Mini Colouring Pack is available through Payhip, and the six-page Starter Pack is free by email. Book Two is coming soon but is not yet available to buy.
The six-page PDF includes the story and original photograph behind one Hampshire scene, a printable colouring page, a reusable colour-planning and pen-testing page, printing guidance and links to explore more from Quiet Hampshire.
The nine-page PDF contains five different A4 countryside colouring scenes, a quick printing guide, personal-use information and ideas for trying different palettes, seasons and materials.
No. To save paper, keep the guidance pages on screen and print only the colouring or colour-planning pages you want to use. The Mini Pack clearly identifies pages 3-7 as the five colouring pages.
Yes. You may print the Starter Pack and purchased Mini Pack pages again for your own personal use. The files must not be shared, resold, redistributed, uploaded or used commercially.
Each picture is printed on the right, and the reverse is blank. You can also place a protective sheet behind the page while you colour.
Colouring pencils are a good choice. If you use felt pens or markers, test them first and place a protective sheet behind the page in case the ink shows through.
